Specimen Processing Technician (SPT I)
Location: Rogers, AR 72756
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Pay Range: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
Dean's Professional Services is currently seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Specimen Processing Technician (SPT I) for a full-time opportunity in Rogers, AR . Position Summary:
The Specimen Technician I is responsible for supporting key functions within the Specimen Processing Department. This position plays a vital role in maintaining specimen integrity and ensuring timely delivery of samples to the laboratory. Duties may include presorting, aliquoting, centrifugation, imaging, microfilming, and specimen transport.
This is a full-time role that requires strong attention to detail, excellent data entry skills, and the flexibility to adapt to daily operational changes. The work environment emphasizes productivity, quality, and adherence to safety and compliance procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform various specimen processing duties, including A-station functions, aliquoting, centrifugation, and imaging.
* Accurately enter data at a rate of 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour.
* Ensure all specimens are processed and delivered in a timely, compliant, and organized manner.
* Follow established safety protocols and maintain a clean and professional work area.
* Communicate effectively with team members and adapt quickly to changing priorities and tasks.
* Work within departmental completion times and productivity/quality benchmarks.
* Remain flexible with scheduling, including availability for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
Qualifications:
* Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
* Technical Skills: Basic computer knowledge required.
Preferred Experience:
* Laboratory specimen processing experience.
* Previous exposure to a clinical or hospital lab environment.
* Background in medical terminology or data entry.
* Experience working in a production-focused setting.
