Duties Description The Program Associate will function as the Assistant Director of Planning and Special Projects. Under the Director of the Office of Gun Violence Prevention (OGVP), the Assistant Director of Planning and Special Projects will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating OGVP's external-facing efforts. This encompasses community engagement initiatives, the provision of technical assistance and capacity building and ensuring fidelity to the implementation of evidence-based gun violence prevention programs/strategies. Duties will include, but will not be limited to:- Facilitating networking opportunities and communities of practice to strengthen collaboration and knowledge-sharing among gun violence prevention partners;- Overseeing the identification and connection of statewide gun violence prevention partners with relevant resources, expertise, and partnerships, enhancing their overall capacity and programming;- Leading collaborative problem-solving efforts with gun violence prevention partners, addressing challenges and promoting innovative solutions to advance the OGVP's mission;- Representing the OGVP in meetings, conferences, and events related to technical assistance and capacity building, ensuring the organization's presence and influence in the field;- Providing strategic oversight and guidance to unit dedicated to implementing effective technical assistance and support in areas such as initiative design, evaluation, cultural relevance, and trauma-informed practices;- Leading comprehensive assessments of partner and stakeholder needs, strengths, and improvement areas to inform and customize the organization's capacity-building initiatives within the broader violence prevention sector;- Developing and implementing a cohesive training strategy, overseeing the delivery of programs, workshops, and resources to enhance the skills, knowledge, and overall effectiveness of partners and stakeholders;- Fostering collaboration and networking opportunities statewide, promoting shared learning and synergy to strengthen the overall impact of violence prevention efforts.- Oversee the effective resolution of partner feedback and concerns;- Developing, implementing, and maintaining monitoring frameworks for evidence-based gun violence prevention programs, ensuring fidelity and relevance;- Overseeing the collection and analysis of data to assess program outcomes, implementation, and impact;- Providing strategic feedback and recommendations to enhance program fidelity, cultural relevance, and overall effectiveness;- Collaborating with leadership and stakeholders to identify continuous improvement strategies and ensure program sustainability;- Overseeing the strategic planning and documentation of OGVP-led programs, ensuring effective recruitment, retention, and satisfaction strategies are identified, developed, and refined;- Managing the maintenance and accuracy of comprehensive documentation systems for partner information and unit activities, ensuring up-to-date records are consistently maintained;- Directing the preparation of insightful reports and presentations summarizing technical assistance activities, outcomes, and lessons learned, enhancing the transparency and effectiveness of the reporting process;- Leading the development of program reports and funding proposals related to technical assistance and capacity building efforts, contributing to the overall success and sustainability of the initiatives; and- Other special projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications A bachelor's degree in correctional studies, crime analysis, criminal justice, criminology, economics, forensics, government, law, law enforcement, law and society, political science, public administration, public affairs, public justice, psychology, social work, or sociology, AND three years of the qualifying experience described below.* One year of this experience must have been as a project leader or project supervisor. OR a master's degree or higher in correctional studies, crime analysis, criminal justice, criminology, economics, forensics, government, law, law enforcement, law and society, political science, public administration, public affairs, public justice, psychology, social work, or sociology, AND two years of the qualifying experience described below.* One year of this experience must have been as a project leader or project supervisor.* Qualifying experience includes analyzing data, trends, policies, and programs that involve criminal justice and/or juvenile justice populations in a formal professional setting. Criminal justice and/or juvenile justice populations include individuals who have been subject to an arrest or delinquency action at any time in their lives. Examples of non-qualifying experience include but are not limited to: caseworker, direct care, paralegal, or security titles.
