DESCRIPTION

Amazon is seeking a highly-creative, self-motivated and high-judgment PR professional to join the team responsible for leading proactive consumer campaigns and cross-Amazon stories focused on seasonal shopping events. This role will be responsible for executing and driving breakthrough integrated marketing communications campaigns in the U.S, with heavy global coordination, for Amazon’s highest profile consumer-shopping events throughout the year. The ideal candidate is able to work autonomously as well as cross-functionally; have experience managing executive stakeholders for multiple teams and/or PR agencies; a proven track record executing proactive consumer focused campaigns; experience in media relations, as well as developing PR strategies, executing experiential events, tracking industry trends and coverage and identifying timely opportunities. This individual should be a self-starter, creative, have an eye for details, and enjoy wrangling multiple people and projects. They will love pop culture, and continuously think of fun and strategic new ways to reach customers throughout the year. They'll display poise and sophistication in rapid-moving situations and become fast friends with a number of internal teams working on events at Amazon as well as with a cross-section of media.

Key job responsibilities
• Develop and execute strategic public relations programs around seasonal retail shopping events, with a main focus on Prime Day, Back-to-School, and Off-to-College.

• Develop and leverage relationships with national and regional media to generate accurate and positive coverage.
• Manage external PR agencies on strategy and tactics.
• Work with external vendors, overseeing the production of creative assets.
• Act as a spokesperson on behalf of Amazon.
• Train and manage internal spokespeople at all levels for external-facing engagements.
• Deliver strategic communications counsel to Amazon executives on both short-and-long-term challenges and opportunities.
• Successfully manage complex, fast-moving and unexpected communications challenges, both proactively and reactively.
