Position Overview 
Our client is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join the team. The Pharmacy Technician performs functions related to the pharmacy and applies professional judgment along with extensive technical training. The ideal candidate is able to answer pharmaceutical questions and demonstrate exceptional customer service skills. The role requires compassion and understanding in addition to attention to detail and strong administrative skills.

Salary Range: $18–$28 USD/Hour

Key Responsibilities

Prepare prescriptions

• Prepare medication as prescribed by physicians, under the guidance of the acting Pharmacist. 
• Remove unneeded or outdated drugs from stock and prepare them for return or disposal. 
• Order, receive, and maintain inventory with a focus on tight security at all times. 

Provide administrative support

• Maintain a clean and organized environment, including the pharmacy stock and supply area. 
• Document orders, prescriptions, purchase orders, stock, and disbursements in the computer system. 
• Generate orders for drugs and supplies with guidance from the Pharmacist. 

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED certificate. 
• Successful completion of a pharmacy technician training course and state licensing, as required. 
• National certification is preferred but not required. 

Physical Demands 
The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  

The regular work schedule for this position is approximately 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday) and every other weekend, and may require additional hours/overtime as necessary. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception, Ability to adjust focus, and Ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, bend, and walk.  

Compensation
The published salary range is used as a guide to provide prospective candidates with a level of compensation that is competitive with today’s market. The salary range for this position is a good faith estimate that allows for flexibility to align with various levels of experience, education, and performance.
