Senior Medical Coding Quality Auditor - Remote Position (CQR Specialist)

Position Overview

As a Coding Quality Review (CQR) Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining coding accuracy and compliance across our Health Information Management Service Centers (HSC). This position combines technical expertise with quality assurance to ensure optimal reimbursement and data integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive quality reviews for inpatient and outpatient coding across multiple HSCs
• Lead quality assessment initiatives including routine, pre-bill, and policy-driven reviews
• Ensure compliance with national coding guidelines and organizational policies
• Provide expert-level guidance on medical coding practices and concepts
• Participate in specialized coding projects and quality improvement initiatives
• Maintain 95% or higher productivity and accuracy standards
• Stay current with industry updates and coding guidelines
• Contribute to team education and best practices development

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of medical coding experience with 3+ years of MS-DRG auditing experience
• Current RHIA or RHIT certification required
• Demonstrated expertise in IP Coding Auditing for MS-DRG
• Comprehensive knowledge of all body systems and coding applications
• Experience in hospital-based coding environments
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
