Description We are looking for a dedicated Associate specializing in Tax and Accounting to join a growing team in Wichita, Kansas. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering high-quality tax compliance and general accounting services to our diverse clientele. Responsibilities: - Prepare accurate federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and nonprofit entities. - Conduct tax planning and research to support client needs across various industries. - Manage bookkeeping tasks such as accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and month-end reconciliations. - Assist in creating financial statements and providing detailed client reporting. - Communicate directly with clients to gather necessary information and address tax and accounting inquiries. - Partner with team members and leadership to enhance processes and deliver exceptional client service. - Stay informed about updates to tax regulations, accounting standards, and firm protocols. - Contribute to audit preparations and review workpapers to ensure accuracy. - Support transactional accounting functions, including journal entries and reconciliations. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required. - CPA or EA certification is preferred but not mandatory. - At least 3 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on tax preparation and bookkeeping. - Proficiency in accounting and tax software, along with the Microsoft Office suite. - Strong analytical and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail. - Effective communication abilities to manage client relationships and resolve issues. - Capable of handling multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. - Commitment to maintaining professionalism and client confidentiality.
