POSITION SUMMARY

The Accountant Intern supports the Account to Report team and assists with special shared service center and center of excellence projects. This internship provides an opportunity to expand current knowledge of various Accounting functions in preparation for permanent role placement.  The Intern is responsible for a variety of projects designed to be completed. Gain knowledge of and interact with Global Business Services colleagues and other business professionals throughout the internship. May participate in larger scale projects across multiple functions and provide mentorship to first and second year interns.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supports day-to-day operations of the Account to Report department developing advanced understanding of all aspects of administration of the Account to Report (Global Business Services) function including policies, procedures and processes.
• Gains exposure to various resources including general ledger transactions, account reconciliations, month-end close activities and finance data analytics.
• Primary focus will be working with and supporting the Account to Report function within the Global Business Services department.
• Helps create and develop various analyses to uncover process improvement opportunities.
• Provides assistance with special projects as needed.
• Additional duties are assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• Current enrollment in undergraduate degree program in a Accounting related field at a recognized college or university
• 2 years (summer, semester etc) participation in prior internship program required
• Ability to work overtime as necessary. (Only for hourly employees)
• Must have current driver’s license. (Only for employees who drive company vehicle)

PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

•    Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see.  
•    Regularly/Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. (Standard is 10lbs, modify as needed)
•    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
•    Regularly/Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
•    The noise level in the work environment may be high.
